Daniel Jason Sudeikis (born September 18, 1975) (pronounced: sir-DAY-kiss) is an American actor and comedian.
Sudeikis was born in Fairfax Virginia, parents Dan and Kathy, and is a partial Lithuanian descent. [Reference?] He moved to Overland Park, Kansas with his family as a child. Overland Park Sudeikis considers to be his hometown. He studied at Brookridge Elementary School before moving to Holy Cross Catholic School, both located in Overland Park. He started high school at Rockhurst Jesuit High School in 1991, then moved to Shawnee Mission West High School, where he was a point guard for the kids’ basketball team, graduating in 1994. Sudeikis was proud to be from Kansas and Kansas frequent references to the sketch on SNL. Sudeikis also a long time die-hard Kansas Jayhawks fan and has worked KU famous themes and Lawrence, Kansas became the location of some sketches on SNL.
Sudeikis is married to actress and 30 Rock writer Kay Cannon, but now they have been divorced. He is the nephew of the actor and the era of the 1990s often Saturday Night Live guest star George Wendt – known for his role as “Norm” from Cheers. He has two sisters, Lindsay and Kristin. Kristin is a novice actress and dancer in New York City, and also appeared in an episode of 30 Rock.
In 2003, Sudeikis was hired as a sketch writer for Saturday Night Live on the recommendation of Jeff Richmond, husband of the author and chief Tina Fey, when she appeared at The Second City in Las Vegas and later, in May 2005, became a featured player at the event. He became famous for his impersonation of American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, and half of the A-Hole duo with Kristen Wiig (one of many sketches in which both paired). He was upgraded to repertory status at the beginning of the season 32 event on September 30, 2006. He is now in season 6 as a cast member on SNL.
Before hired by Saturday Night Live, Sudeikis is in ComedySportz (now Comedy City) in Kansas City, where he co-founded a sketch comedy group called Der Monkenpickle. After moving to Chicago, Sudeikis studied at IO (formerly ImprovOlympic) where he was one of the founding members of the legendary long-form Brown JTS team, which now forms part of the curriculum at Level 5 in the io class. He was then cast in The Second City National Touring Company and has performed with Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. While with The Second City, he became a founding member of Second City Las Vegas. He also studied at ImprovOlympic irritation and Theater in Chicago, and often perform at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York.
Sudeikis has a recurring role on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock in early 2007, appeared in a total of seven episodes. He played Floyd, the love interest Tina Fey Liz Lemon character. He made another appearance as Floyd in 2008 episodes, and appeared again in the episode aired on Valentine’s Day February 11, 2010, along with Jon Hamm and Dean Winters. He is expected to appear again in the episode aired March 25, 2010.
He also played the role of extreme right-wing talk show host Richard Bastion in WKTT fictional radio station, in the Grand Theft Auto IV. He was recently in the Cameron Diaz / Ashton Kutcher comedy led What Happens in Vegas Cameron Diaz as the character of ex-fiance.
In July 2008, co-starred in Sudeikis Line web series on YouTube.
Recently filmed Sudeikis role in the upcoming film The Bounty Hunter, currently set for release in March 2010. He will co-star with Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. Aniston will play Sudeikis colleagues who fell in love with him and mistakenly thought he was her boyfriend.
We have repeated Sudeikis voice actor Seth MacFarlane on the latest animated comedy Cleveland Show on FOX. Sudeikis to vote for Holt Rickter, Cleveland’s wannabe hipster neighbors, and the sound of Terry Kimple, Cleveland hard-partying high school friend, who he now works with the cable television company.
